Pollen station

The pollen trap is located on the tower-like porch on the east side of the institute building at Holteigasse 6 at a height of around 20 metres.

In the immediate vicinity is the "Postgrundstück", part of the botanical garden, with the cottage garden and the medicinal plant section. Horse chestnut, ash and Japanese string tree grow along Schubertstraße as avenue trees. The botanical garden itself is planted with native and exotic conifers and deciduous trees and shrubs.

The Leechwald, a mixed deciduous forest with spruce, Scots pine, yew, hornbeam, oak and sweet chestnut, adjoins in a northerly direction.

The trap is influenced by NE winds coming from the Mariatroster valley. It therefore particularly represents pollen loads in the outskirts of the city.
